Long-form answers to the questions travellers actually ask about flying in South Africa. Each one is built either on the airport operator’s own monthly filings, which we read and reconcile ourselves, or on the primary source for the rule in question — the Revenue Service for customs, Home Affairs for entry — rather than on what other travel sites say.
Three rules govern all of them. Every figure carries the period it covers, because a passenger number without its dates is an opinion. Where two official sources disagree, we show the disagreement rather than quietly choosing the one that reads better. And where a figure rots quickly — a fare, a tariff, a timetable — we leave it out and tell you where the current one lives. The full sourcing note sets out the rest, and the editorial policy covers corrections.
For the reference pages rather than the articles, see the airport guide, which covers sixteen subjects one at a time, and every South African airport by the numbers.
